These lethal cartridges are not to be fired at personnel.

Short Stop® Short-Range Training Ammunition (SRTA) and Short-Range Training Ammunition Tracer (SRTA-T) are designed for use on ranges where ricochet and stray bullets travelling beyond standard target distances pose a problem. Used in the trainees’ own service weapons, without conversion, these lethal non-toxic 7.62 mm cartridges feature a destabilized projectile providing the accuracy of conventional ammunition up to 100 meters (330 feet), yet maximum range is reduced to less than 600 meters with similar recoil and function.
Short Stop® projectiles are made with a non-toxic and frangible bronze/copper polymer-filled which reduces the danger of ricochet and splash back associated with conventional ammunition, while reducing environmental contamination.
The unique Short Stop® tracer represents a quantum leap in technology by incorporating tracer technology with a short-range frangible projectile. This projectile has day and night tracing capabilities. It is safe to use and meets environmental regulations. It has the same interior and exterior ballistics as an SRTA ball round.
